Ford County Detention Facility Security Updates

Ford County selected Decker Electric for their detention facility security updates. Working in an active prison was a challenge when it came to coordinating with the Sheriff’s officers to ensure that areas that were occupied remained secure.

The Decker Electric team updated the access control and security camera systems in the existing detention facility while remaining operational. The outdated access control system was upgraded to the customized written Gallagher solution to control over 340 doors requiring a lot of interlock programming to maintain secure areas in the detention facility along with integrating 380 existing intercom stations. In addition, 104 existing cameras were migrated and 56 new cameras were installed throughout the facility.

The prison command center was updated with new 55″ viewing monitors as well as updated graphics for control over the entire facility.  Since the prison was still operational, the Decker team had to ensure all areas remained secure and migrate the facility over to the new Gallagher system one pod at a time.  It was a challenge for our integration team as well as the Sheriff’s department to ensure everything remained secure at the Ford County Jail. The project team successfully installed the systems.
