Decker Electric was hired in 2019 to play a critical role in enhancing the cyber infrastructure network at the Sandford Underground Research Facility in Lead, South Dakota through the installation of three major fiber-optic backbone systems. The project included two vertical fiber installations spanning roughly 6,000 feet each as well as a third fiber installation spanned approximately 7,000 feet.

After a successful project, Decker was asked to provide temporary power systems to support excavation and development activities associated with the Pilot Drift and raise-bore operations between 3500 and 4850 levels. The scope included installation of temporary power distribution, lighting, ventilation systems across multiple underground levels to facilitate safe and efficient construction operations.
