Stephen A. Decker
Stephen A. Decker was born in Wichita, KS. His father was in the Air Force so Stephen had the opportunity to move around a lot. Stephen went to kindergarten in Spain, and his sister was born in Guam, but Wichita has always been considered “home” to him.
Later, he went to school at Wichita State University, and is now a lifetime member of the WSU President’s Club.
After spending 4 years in the electrical industry, Stephen founded Decker Electric in 1977. Decker Electric has grown from a one man shop to one of the largest and most respected electrical companies in the Midwest. Through the years, Stephen has personally obtained and kept current Master Electrical certificates in the states of KS, TX, NM, NE, and IA.
He and his wife, Lisa, have one son, Michael, and two grandchildren.
Blaine Clark was raised north of Wichita in Valley Center, KS. After high school, he attended both Butler County and Kansas State University while also playing football for both colleges. Blaine Clark graduated from Kansas State in 2005 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Construction Science and Management.
After graduation, Blaine accepted a position with a large general contractor and relocated to Southern California. Blaine performed various construction roles and lived there for over 9 years. In 2014, Blaine relocated back to Wichita, KS to join Decker Electric as a Project Manager and, in 2016, transitioned to an Executive Vice President and Operations role.
Blaine has over 14 years of combined experience within the construction industry across the country. He and his wife, Melissa, have two girls.
Jason Seiwert grew up outside of Wichita and attended high school at Garden Plain High School. He then pursued an education with both Wichita Technical Institute (WTI) and the Electrical Apprenticeship Program with the local IBEW Union. Through WTI, he received his Associate CET & during his apprenticeship he obtained his certificate as a Journeyman Electrician.
Jason first joined Decker Electric in 2002 and has recently transitioned from Project Manager to Executive Vice President. Jason has performed various roles over 24 years within the electrical industry.
He and his wife Melissa (Missy) have four children, 1 boy and 3 girls.
Jarret Bergkamp is from St. Joe Ost, Kansas and attended high school in Garden Plain Kansas. Following high school, he was accepted into the Electrical Apprenticeship Program at the Wichita Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (WEJATC). He successfully completed the program and obtained a certificate as a Journeyman Electrician.
Jarret first joined Decker Electric in 2006 as an apprentice and, in 2014, transitioned from Project Manager to Executive Vice President and Director of Estimating. Jarret has performed various roles over 13 years in the electrical industry.
Jarret and his wife, Amber Lynn, have four kids all girls.
Ben Wilson was born in Wichita, KS and attended Valley Center High School. After high school, he attended Wichita State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Finance. His college years were also spent playing baseball with the WSU team.
After graduation, Ben joined Decker Electric in 2003. Ben has performed various construction roles from field laborer to Project Manager to his most recent position where he has transitioned to an Executive Vice President and Lead Business Development role.
Ben has over 16 years of combined experience within the electrical industry across the country. He and his wife, Chelsea, have six kids – two girls and four boys.
Jack Wilson grew up and attended high school in Arkansas City, KS, before attending the IBEW Electrical Apprenticeship School and going through management training.
Jack has spent 44 years in the electrical industry as an apprentice, journeyman, Business Manager of the Local Union and in management. He joined Decker Electric in August of 1999 as a Project Manager and has since transitioned into Director of Construction and Business Development.
He and his wife, Anne, have two boys.
Clinton Townsend was born and raised in the small town of Caldwell KS. Shortly after graduating High School, he was accepted into the IBEW apprenticeship where he transitioned from apprentice, to journeyman, to foreman working in the field installing network infrastructures.
Throughout his career he has focused on telecommunications infrastructures and technologies. Carrying both an electrical license and BICSI credentials has given him a unique and varied view of the industry.
Clinton joined Decker Electric in 2014 as a Telecommunications Project Manager. He and his wife Sara, have two daughters.
Brian Fair was raised in Wichita, KS and went to high school at Wichita Northwest. After high school, he attended Hutchinson Community College, Emporia State, and then finally Southwestern College where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management.
In the years that followed, Brian successfully completed the Electrical Apprenticeship Program and went on to earn his electrical Journeyman’s license. Brian is also a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional.
Brian first joined Decker Electric in 1999 as a Journeyman electrician, but left in 2007 to join another company within the electrical industry. Brian then returned to Decker Electric, in 2017, as a Project Manager. Brian has over 24 years of experience within the electrical industry.
He and his wife, Jo, have been together for 25 years. They have 4 children, all boys.
Tom Norman serves as Engineering Manager here at Decker Electric and has been with us since 2010. He came to the Decker family bringing 27 years of automation experience. You might say Tom comes with the most thrilling electrical experience. Having worked at Chance Rides, a roller coaster manufacturer based right here in Wichita, Tom travelled the world over the course of an entire year working on amusement park equipment.
Tom was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and then earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at California State. He has two sons, Thomas II and James and two grandchildren, Tommy and Kristina.
When he’s not busy managing any number of projects with our Decker team, he might be out looking for an adventure. Not only does Tom have his private pilot license, but he is also certified in open water diving.
James Kelley was born in Wichita, KS and attended Valley Center High School.
Following high school, in 1991, James pursed his career within the electrical Industry and obtained his Journeyman Electrician Certification. In August of 2011, James Kelley began his career with Decker Electric as a Service Department Project Manager.
James has 27 years of combined experience within the electrical industry. He and his wife, Wynette, have two children.
Josh Nesbit grew up in the Wichita metropolitan area. He attended Kansas State University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science and Management.
Josh has a broad range of project experience in the industry. He has had the rare opportunity to serve in project roles as a subcontractor, prime contractor, full EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) manager and even an owner’s role with the majority of projects being design/build. Josh has worked on large coal-fired power and generation, clean room, pharmaceutical, aerospace and commercial projects in the Pacific Northwest, Midwest and Texas. In 2018, he was convinced to leave a great career with a great company in Burns & McDonnell for the opportunity to start something new back where he grew up.
Josh has over 14 years of combined experience within the construction industry across the country. He and his wife, Emmy, have two boys and one girl.
Gary Lindow was born and attended school in Wisconsin but has been a member of the Decker Electric family here in Wichita for more than a decade.
As our Service Department Manager, Gary is often the first person you speak to when reaching out to us for electrical work needed for your home or business. He has been the go-to guy for countless homeowners here in Wichita looking for service or repairs. With his experience in the industry spanning more than 2 decades, Gary has encountered just about every problem and knows how to get quickly to a solution.
At only 16 years old, Gary became a certified scuba diver and has even performed an ice dive and night dives.
Gary and his wife, Monette, have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. Outside of work, you might find Gary working to perfect his golf swing or enjoying a Packers game while continuing his search for the perfect IPA.
