FEATURED DECKER ELECTRIC PROJECTS
Standby Generator Project EKAE Garnett, KS
In the summer of 2020, Decker Electric completed the install of (3) 500 KW standby generators, a 2,000 amp distribution panel & two 1,200 amp tap boxes. We installed over 1,400 feet of temporary power cables & 400 feet of permanent power wiring along with several communication cables. This will give the renewable unit backup power to assure no power interruptions. This was a complete design build job by Decker Electric.
Marty Mapes, James Helten, John Perkins, Norman King, Scott Nelson & Bryan Wallace all helped to make this job be a success.
Outage at the Tyson Plant in Emporia
Over the weekend of March 14 & 15, 2020 Decker Electric performed an outage at the Tyson plant in Emporia to replace 15 sections of back to back MCC along with a new main section. We had 17 electricians on site for the around the clock outage that started on Friday night at 9PM when the plant had finished production for the evening. Our target was to have all of the old gear torn out by mid-morning Saturday, and then start to reassemble the new gear, and have it operational by 6 am on Monday morning.

The work of our crew of project managers and experienced technicians included power, lighting, grounding, heat trace, controls and instrumentation. It was a very successful project. Our entire team worked diligently to complete it on time, on budget and accident free.
