FEATURED DECKER ELECTRIC PROJECTS
Decker Electric has just completed the install of (3) 500 KW standby generators, a 2,000 amp distribution panel & two 1,200 amp tap boxes.
We installed over 1,400 feet of temporary power cables & 400 feet of permanent power wiring along with several communication cables.
This will give the renewable unit backup power to assure no power interruptions. This was a complete design build job by Decker Electric.
Marty Mapes, James Helten, John Perkins, Norman King, Scott Nelson & Bryan Wallace all helped to make this job be a success.
Over the weekend of March 14 & 15, 2020 Decker Electric performed an outage at the Tyson plant in Emporia to replace 15 sections of back to back MCC along with a new main section. We had 17 electricians on site for the around the clock outage that started on Friday night at 9PM when the plant had finished production for the evening. Our target was to have all of the old gear torn out by mid-morning Saturday, and then start to reassemble the new gear, and have it operational by 6 am on Monday morning.
Just as 2019 was coming to an end, Decker Electric completed the design build project for East Kansas Agri-Energy. The work of our crew of project managers and experienced technicians included power, lighting, grounding, heat trace, controls and instrumentation. It was a very successful project. Our entire team worked diligently to complete it on time, on budget and accident free.
When the City of Wichita decided to go electric with their transit system, Decker Electric was called upon to help make the project a success. Ryan Atchison was foreman leading our crew of electricians on the City’s ProTerra Bus Charging Station project. From routing conduit and pulling wire, our crews performed all the necessary work on deadline to complete the project in time for the city’s new electric buses to hit the streets of Wichita by their fall 2019 goal.
Decker Electric’s electricians and telecommunications group partnered with Seaton Construction for a fast-track project on the Distributed Antenna System project for Pierson Wireless at Koch Arena on WSU’s campus. Ryan Atchison and Nick England led the electrical and low voltage crews to complete the work in time for Shocker basketball season. Our DAS work will improve the cell phone coverage fans will now have next time they attend their next Shocker basketball game!
