Green Plains Dryer Project

Green Plains ethanol plant located in Madison, IL was having weekly shutdowns due to a variety of failures with their dryer system. They decided to shutdown the plant and hired Decker Electric to retrofit the existing dryer system and install an RTO. Decker crews are utilizing the old dryer drums and re-designing the conveyors in order to get the plant to back into production. This ethanol plants dries the mash leftover into dry distilled grain and then sells it to feedlots. By drying the mash, it gives the grain a longer shelf life. The six-month project started in May and will be completed the first part of December.
