KAAPA Ethanol Grain Pile

Decker Electric is working on the design-build KAAPA Ethanol Grain Pile project to internalize part of their process to save time and money. This allows the plant to store their own grain increasing productivity in their process. The project includes three new grain pile stacks, a grain dump, and installation of a tower with a conveyor. Running cabling and lighting up the 100’ tower presents a challenge, and the crews must pay close attention to tying off and taking extra safety precautions. Installation of MCC (motor control center) and installation of a new 15KV switch are also being completed. Budgeting started in May, construction started in July, and the crews are slated to be completed in September.
